These terms are the agreement between you and eyyo! for using the service at eyyo.me and the installable app. By creating an account you accept them. They are short on purpose; the Help pages explain how each feature works in detail.
1. What eyyo! is
eyyo! lets you leave messages for a vehicle by its number plate and receive messages about vehicles you have claimed as yours. Participants are not identified to each other. eyyo! is a messaging tool between private individuals; it is not an emergency service, a towing or parking authority, and it does not verify vehicle ownership beyond the dispute process described below.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 17 years old and give a real email address you control. Sign-in codes are sent there; anyone with access to that inbox can access your account, so keep it secure.
- One person, one account. Creating additional accounts to get around limits or moderation outcomes is not allowed.
- You are responsible for everything sent from your account.
3. Claiming vehicles
- Claim only plates for vehicles you own or are the regular keeper of. Claiming someone else's plate to read their messages is a serious breach and leads to account removal.
- If a plate you own is already claimed, you may open an ownership dispute with proof. We decide disputes in good faith on the documents provided and our decision is final within the service.
- When you sell or stop using a vehicle, remove it so the next owner can claim it. Messages you received are sealed from the next owner.
4. Rules of conduct
Messages must be civil and about the vehicle. You must not:
- harass, insult, threaten or intimidate anyone, or discriminate against anyone on any ground;
- reveal, request or attempt to discover personal information about another user, including their address, phone number, identity documents or bank details;
- use eyyo! to follow, track or monitor a person or vehicle;
- send spam, advertising, chain messages or repeated unsolicited messages, including to plates that do not answer;
- attempt scams or fraud, or impersonate any person, authority or eyyo! staff;
- post sexual, violent or otherwise unlawful content;
- upload false documents in a dispute or make knowingly false reports about other users;
- interfere with the service, probe its security, or use automated tools to send messages.
5. Fair-use limits
To keep chats conversational and to limit abuse, the app enforces limits such as how many messages you can send in a row without a reply, how many a new account may send in its first week, and how many notes a single plate can receive from you per day. The current numbers are published in the Help pages and may change. Premium accounts may have different limits.
6. Reporting and moderation
- Any participant may flag a message or report a conversation. Reports are reviewed by a person, who sees the whole conversation and the identities of both participants. The other participant is not told who reported them.
- Outcomes are: no action; removal of the offending message from the chat; a temporary mute during which the account cannot send messages; or, for serious or repeated breaches, permanent removal of the account and its claimed plates.
- Knowingly false or bad-faith reports are themselves a breach of these terms.
- We may act on breaches we notice ourselves, without a report, and we may preserve and disclose content to law enforcement when required by law.
- There is no formal appeal process yet. If you believe a decision was wrong, write to us through the contact form while signed in and we will look again.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of what you write and upload. You give eyyo! the permission needed to store, transmit, display and back up that content so the service can work, and to show it to moderators and, where legally required, to authorities. Messages you send remain part of the recipient's conversation even if you later delete your account.
8. Beta service, availability and changes
eyyo! is in beta. Features may change, be limited or be withdrawn while we learn what works, and you may meet bugs. We will tell you in the app or by email about changes that affect you, but we cannot promise advance notice for every change.
eyyo! is provided as it is, free of charge for Basic accounts, and we make no promise that a message will reach its recipient, that a plate's owner will ever claim it, or that the service will be available at all times. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may change these terms; when we do, we update the effective date and tell you about significant changes in the app or by email. Continuing to use eyyo! after a change means you accept it.
9. Liability
eyyo! is a channel between private individuals. We are not a party to your conversations and are not responsible for what other users say or do, on or off the service. To the extent the law allows, eyyo! is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Privacy
How we handle personal data is set out in the Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. Governing law and severability
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes are subject to the courts of Malaysia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy where you live. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, that part is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest of the terms remain in force.
12. Contact
Use the contact form; we reply by email.
